Today we landed in Salt Lake City, Utah. We are on an adventure. Who would have thought that our love and passion for scrapbooking would bring us here?!
Expo is not until tomorrow, so why not buy a day pass for the train and go, say, two towns north and check out Layton? Yup, that's what we did. With nothing more than a train map and an address we decided we were going to track down Basic Grey.
Coincidentally, Basic Grey was my personal teacher as I entered the scrapbooking world. I bought their kits: both card kits and layout kits, and learned how to mix and match papers from within a single line of product. It was Basic Grey that taught me to blend plaids and paislies with flowers because we were dressing up layouts...not dressing up ourselves to leave the house - Big Difference!
With our suitcases in tow, we used advice from a few sources to track down the office of Basic Grey.
We walked into reception, drew straws as to who would pick up the phone and plead our case to the voice on the other end, to see if they would show us around. Yup, it was bold, but we didn't come from Niagara Falls to just sit in our hotel until expo. We needed a story! Trekking around Layton to find Basic Grey was our adventure! We charted over 6 kilometres that afternoon, melted a wheel on the luggage, got sunburned and met some awesome ladies at Basic Grey!
It was an awesome day! Yes, we went to sleep that night with not sugar plums dancing in our heads but South Pacific, Capella and J'adore!
