Don't you just love leftovers? The other day we barbecued a family size pack of pork chops and with only three in the family, that makes for lots of leftovers!!
I chopped up the extra chops (pun intended...lol) threw in the leftover veggies, potato and pureed roasted squash and voilá... stoup or stewp. It was delicious! I love doing the same with my scrapbooking kit leftovers!!
Last weekend I found time for me and my craft cave! I went rooting through the envelopes that I keep leftovers in and decided to empty one!! I mostly like to make cards with leftovers, and manly (male) cards are usually on the back burner. My poor boyfriend, father, brother, three nephews, uncles etc all seem to get (gasp!! dare i say it....) $ store cards....horrors!!
So, I challenged myself to not only use up the kit leftovers, but to make masculine birthday cards! The cards were put together with scraps from a class kit with the Moravia Line from SEI. Lots of coppers, blues, oranges and neutrals. Perfect for guys!! The class was my first foray into making an album from envelopes. It was so interesting, I loved that fact that I could keep almost all of my pictures from one event, in one album. Just highlight some of the favourites, but hide the rest in the pockets of the envelopes.
Here are my cards!! I hope the boys love receiving them as much as I loved making them!
P.S. I am teaching this envelope album with the Blooms and Blossoms Line from SEI as a class on November 5th. I would love to see what you create with the loads of leftovers you'll get!!
