You've heard the saying, "the devil is in the details", well applying that to scrapbooking may just elevate you from a basic to advanced scrapbooker! What do I mean? The fussiness that you take (or don't take) with paper, cardstock, chipboard, ribbon, adhesives is what sets you apart! Come with me, put on your critcal glasses, and let's see some examples.
Today we are going to look at the little nubs on paper that you get when you rip out a piece of paper or embellishments from packages and kits.
Many people would just glue down this cardstock onto the black background and just carry on. S-T-O-P!! Grab your paper trimmer and cut off those nubs. Trust me, you don't miss those nubs when they are gone, but leaving them there distracts from your work of art.
Face it, we love sharing our work with anyone that will stop long enough to look at it. Help them see just the beauty by eliminating the nubs.
This one trick alone, elevates you as a papercrafter. You would not believe how many people have told me, "Oh I don't care if anyone sees those nubs...". It's a small thing that not many people care to trim off. Give yourself the permission to elevate your papercrafting status by trimming!
